"Now I've had my new ceiling for a few weeks and can therefore give a better assessment of it.

I live in an old property where there is a lot of noise. I have a roommate who is a distinct B person and who loves to listen to music. Although he is considerate in the evening hours, I have still been bothered by the noise and have had to sleep with earplugs most nights.

After I got my new ceiling, I haven't needed my earplugs. I can barely hear my overlord or his music. So I've had a much better (undisturbed) night's sleep, and I'm very grateful for that.
